Quick Summary

  1. Registration is free through the Google Form.
  2. Real names are optional; valid email addresses and WhatsApp numbers are required.
  3. Each email and WhatsApp number may belong to only one account.
  4. Your participant code will be delivered through WhatsApp.
  5. Start every answer with your participant code.
  6. TikTok, WhatsApp Channel, and newsletter questions are different.
  7. You may participate on any combination of platforms.
  8. All eligible points from all platforms count toward your monthly score.
  9. Easy questions are worth 5 points; hard questions are worth 10 points.
  10. Every question's expiration date and time appears in its lower-left corner.
  11. Answers received at or after the expiration deadline will not be considered.
  12. Multiple aliases are permitted, but each individual may occupy only one championship position.
  13. The top five eligible participants qualify for the monthly finale.
  14. Participants must meet TikTok LIVE eligibility requirements to receive the Lion.

Welcome to Machetoupatou Lion Trivia, an international knowledge competition where participants answer questions, accumulate points, and compete for the chance to win a TikTok Lion gift!

STEP 1 — Register for Free

  1. Complete the official Machetoupatou Lion Trivia Google Registration Form.

  2. Your real name is optional. You may register using an alias.

  3. You must provide a valid email address and WhatsApp number.

  4. You will receive the Machetoupatou newsletter by email.

  5. You will receive your Participant Code ID by WhatsApp.

Registration Rules:

  • Each email address can be associated with only one account.

  • Each WhatsApp number can be associated with only one account.

  • Subsequent accounts using an already registered email address or WhatsApp number will be voided.

STEP 2 — Receive Your Participant ID

After completing your registration, you will receive your unique Participant Code ID by WhatsApp.

Example: MT001

You must include this code at the beginning of every answer.

If the correct answer is Cat, submit:

MT001 Cat

Use the same participant code on every platform so your points can be credited to your account.

STEP 3 — Choose Your Platforms

Lion Trivia publishes different questions on three platforms:

  1. TikTok — Follow Machetoupatou for TikTok trivia questions.

  2. WhatsApp Channel — Join the official channel for WhatsApp trivia questions.

  3. Email Newsletter — Check your email for exclusive newsletter questions.

You may participate on one, two, or all three platforms.

You are not required to answer questions from every platform.

However, all eligible points you earn across the platforms are combined into your monthly score.

STEP 4 — Answer Questions Before They Expire

Every Lion Trivia question includes:

  1. A unique question number.

  2. The trivia question.

  3. The number of points available.

  4. A QR code labeled Machetoupatou Connect.

  5. An expiration date and time displayed in the lower-left corner of the question graphic.

Important Deadline Rule

Every question has its own expiration date and time.

  • Check the lower-left corner of the question before answering.

  • Submit your answer before the displayed expiration deadline.

  • Your answer must be received before the question expires.

  • Answers received after the expiration date and time will not be considered.

  • Late answers earn zero points, even if they are correct.

Example:

If a question expires on October 30 at 6:00 PM, any answer received at 6:00 PM or later will not be accepted.

Always check the deadline before submitting your answer!

STEP 5 — Earn Points

Questions are assigned points according to difficulty:

  • Easy questions: 5 points

  • Hard questions: 10 points

  • Incorrect answers: 0 points

  • Expired answers: 0 points

Points from TikTok, WhatsApp Channel, and newsletter questions are added to your participant account.

For example:

One participant ID. One combined score.

STEP 6 — Create Your Aliases

  1. You may create as many aliases as you want.

  2. Your real name is not required.

  3. Each email address and WhatsApp number can be linked to only one account.

  4. Regardless of your aliases, you can participate only once as one individual in the TikTok LIVE championship.

  5. You cannot occupy multiple finalist positions under different aliases.

STEP 7 — Climb the Leaderboard

  1. Answer questions throughout the month.

  2. Earn points from your chosen platforms.

  3. Accumulate points under your Participant Code ID.

  4. Follow the monthly leaderboard to see your ranking.

  5. Compete against participants from around the world.

STEP 8 — Qualify for the Monthly Finale

  1. At the end of the qualifying period, eligible points are totaled.

  2. Participants are ranked according to their scores.

  3. The top five eligible participants qualify for the championship.

  4. Finalists receive instructions for the TikTok LIVE finale.

The championship is scheduled for the last Sunday of each month.

STEP 9 — Compete on TikTok LIVE

  1. Finalists participate in the designated TikTok LIVE championship.

  2. Finalists compete by answering trivia questions.

  3. The winner is determined according to the championship rules.

  4. The winner becomes the Machetoupatou Lion Trivia Champion.

To receive the Lion prize, you must be able to go LIVE on TikTok and meet the platform's applicable LIVE and gifting requirements.

STEP 10 — Win the Lion! 🦁

🏆 The monthly champion receives ONE TIKTOK LION GIFT!

The prize is awarded through an eligible TikTok LIVE gifting session, subject to platform rules.

There is no limit to how many times you can win!

Previous champions may compete again in future months.
